Premium Indian Rice
Varieties & Expanding Range
From aromatic 1121 Basmati to cost-effective Sona Masuri — Alstoe India Exports supplies the complete spectrum of Indian rice varieties, sourced directly from APEDA-certified mills across Punjab, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh. Plus an expanding portfolio of sugar, pulses, spices, tea, and herbal commodities launching through 2026.
Basmati Rice
True Basmati rice is grown exclusively in the Indo-Gangetic plains of northern India. Alstoe sources directly from certified mills across Punjab and Haryana — offering the full spectrum of Basmati varieties from premium aged 1121 to value-grade Sharbati, in raw, steam, and parboiled (sella) forms.
Basmati is defined by three qualities: extra-long slender grains, distinctive natural aroma, and non-sticky fluffy texture after cooking. Authentic Basmati has geographical indication (GI) protection and can only be labelled as such if grown in certified regions of India. We age our Basmati 12 to 24 months before export — improving aroma, reducing moisture, and delivering the premium grain separation that discerning buyers demand.
The flagship premium Basmati variety — the world's longest grain rice after cooking. Exceptional aroma, pronounced grain elongation, and the non-sticky fluffy texture that makes it the first choice for Mandi, Kabsa, Biryani, and premium retail across the Middle East and global markets.
Developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (Pusa), this variety offers excellent aroma with a slightly shorter grain than 1121 — and a more accessible price point. Strong demand from retail households across the Gulf, UK, USA, and Southeast Asia. Versatile for both everyday cooking and celebration dishes.
A value-grade cross-bred Basmati offering authentic Basmati grain characteristics — long grains, subtle aroma, and fluffy cooking behavior — at a more economical price point. Popular among wholesale buyers targeting mid-market retail and institutional food service segments.
The heirloom varieties — Dehraduni, Taraori, and Basmati 370 — grown from traditional seeds in the Himalayan foothills. Lower yields but superior aroma, longer post-cook elongation, and the authentic taste that premium Indian diaspora and heritage-brand buyers specifically request.
Non-Basmati Rice
India produces the world's broadest range of non-Basmati rice — from long-grain IR64 preferred in West Africa, to medium-grain Sona Masuri loved by the South Asian diaspora, to short-grain Ponni popular in Sri Lanka. Alstoe sources primarily from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana mills — India's non-Basmati powerhouse region.
Non-Basmati rice covers everything from cost-effective parboiled rice for African markets to premium Sona Masuri for South Indian retail. Where Basmati is an aspirational product, non-Basmati is the everyday staple — driving the largest export volumes globally. Our mill partners offer 5% to 25% broken grades, raw and parboiled processing, and sortexed cleanliness standards suitable for retail packs or institutional bulk supply.

A medium-grain aromatic rice from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka — the staple for South Indian households worldwide. Lightweight texture, subtle aroma, and the ideal grain for idli, dosa batters, sambar rice, curd rice, and everyday South Indian cooking. Strong recurring demand from USA, UK, Australia, and the Gulf diaspora markets.
